What does Classic Plastics do, exactly?
We take old, broken, crazing, cracked, fading, or otherwise damaged plastic parts from your beautiful old car (or bike, or anything else!) and replicate it in our lab. Then we send you back your part with a brand new one right next to it.
Which types of vehicles and parts do you currently support?
We'll make parts for any vehicle! While we started this company for old classics that need parts you can't find anywhere, we'll make something newer, too!
Do I need to send in my original part to get a replacement made?
Most of the time, the answer is yes. If you don't have the exact part but you have a mirror part (you have the left blinker and need the right) we can make that work. Additionally, if we've already reverse engineered your part for someone else, we can use that to make yours!
What happens to my original part after reproduction?
We ship it right back to you!
How accurate are your reproduced parts compared to the originals?
Our Machines are accurate to 50um (that's less than a human hair!)
What materials do you use, and how durable are they compared to OEM plastics?
We use liquid, UV-curing resins. They form an acrylic part - the same plastic that cars have been using for decades. You shouldn't notice any difference except that your new part isn't falling apart like your old one!
Can you color-match lenses or plastic parts to my original?
We color match everything and use machines to dye our resins with UV-stable dyes to just the right hue!
How long does the reproduction process usually take?
Depending on the complexity of your part, our team takes 3-5 days to redesign, manufacture, and post-process your part.
What does a typical part cost, and how is pricing determined?
Pricing is determined by the volume of plastic in your part, the desired finish of your part, and the complexity of your part. Large, very detailed parts take time to design, and time to polish. We make sure that even the biggest parts leave our shop looking tip-top! Generally expect to pay between $80 and $200 for a new part.
Do you ship nationwide, and how does return shipping work?
We ship anywhere in the USA using USPS. While returns are complicated for one-off parts, we do our best to accommodate everyone!
